Happy Birthday!

Michael11849_143951659120346_2022840590_n3 years ago today, on this night, at 10:20PM Michael Howeth II was born. He weighed 8lbs 15oz and measured 21.5 inches long. He took his first breath 3 minutes after birth. It was the most traumatic and precious moment I have ever had. Life… could have be given or taken. We are so very fortunate that he was able to stay here with us and for those who stood by and held their breath while they waited for him to take his first. Thankful for the team that took part in giving him life. Thankful for all those who visited, prayed, and took part in his recovery. I can’t believe he is already 3. I feel like I was visiting the NICU just yesterday. I know I will say “I can’t believe he is already ___” until the day I die, but it is unbelievable how fast time goes even though we feel like the days drag on. I just hope that when the days are through, I am at least half the mother such an angel as he should have had. Happy Birthday to Mickey Mouse’s #1 Fan! ♥

  1. Hi, I saw your blog in your sig on the Camino forum. The picture of your baby reminds me of how my niece looked when she was born. She had meconium aspiration syndrome, basically she had her first bowl movement in the womb and inhaled it. It was really scary to see that precious little girl with all those tubes and hoses running into her. But now she’s a vibrate and healthy 6 year old. Best of luck on your Camino!

    • Thank you. That’s great! He had a subgaleal hematoma (bleeding on the skull but under the skin)from his head being stuck because he was too large for my body being my first baby. It is such an awful sight isn’t it? But that is when we learn that out of such awful circumstances we get appreciation for the little things! (:
