Bucket List Item #12

July 28th, we will depart from Central Texas and make our way to West Texas. 550 miles West to hike Guadalupe Peak in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Salt Flat, Texas. It is the highest natural point in Texas at 8,749 feet in the air with a 3,000 foot elevation gain. We will leave the 28th and arrive that evening as long as all goes well. That night we’ll set up camp, literally, and rest up for the following morning at sunrise. As soon as the sun rises, we will be off! Round trip, it is 8.4 miles and can take 6-8 hours to go up and back down. We will probably camp out again and then take off the following morning at sunrise. I am so excited for the journey. Not only to hike but the road trip itself! I love driving through the desert/wide open space  and mountains. The closest showers, grocery stores, restaurants, lodging, gas stations, ice, and civilization are 35 miles away in White’s City, New Mexico. Follow me as I follow my dreams!
